“Tide’s Call” Katheryn Exclusive Analysis: The Wind Goddess Dancing in the Shadow of the Sword
On this battlefield eroded by the sea breeze, a goddess with mysterious sword auras is about to descend. This is Katheryn, a unique being who uses the sword as a medium and the wind as her power. She is not simply a swordsman, but a Wind Goddess who perfectly fuses herself with the wind element. In the upcoming June 12th update of “Tide’s Call” version 2.4, this dual-form character will bring players a brand-new combat experience.
The gentle breeze arrives, and the sword auras dance. The sword in her hand is no longer cold metal, but has transformed into the shape of the wind, capable of splitting into countless sword auras at any time, witnessing her every swing. These sword auras are not just visual effects, but the core mechanism of her combat system.
In Katheryn’s combat system, there are three different types of sword auras: the Divine Right Sword Aura, the Human Right Sword Aura, and the Other Right Sword Aura. Each normal attack, heavy strike, or resonance skill will summon the corresponding sword aura on the battlefield. These auras are not just static entities, but will be absorbed when she performs her plunging attack, converting into powerful additional damage.
Eutheria Form: When the resonance energy reaches its maximum value, Katheryn can transform into Eutheria. This is a form filled with mystery. In Eutheria form, each type of sword aura present on the battlefield will grant her different enhancement effects. This transformation not only brings a new combat style but also fundamentally changes her combat style.
In Eutheria form, Katheryn’s HP will be reduced to 50% of its maximum value, but she will gain a 60% Anemo damage bonus. This seemingly disadvantageous transformation, however, brings greater possibilities to her combat. Every attack will accumulate “Determination,” and when Determination reaches 120 points, she can unleash her powerful resonance skill, “Overwhelming Surge: Gale Blade.”
This resonance skill not only recovers 70% of her HP but also deals massive Anemo damage to all enemies in a straight-line range. Each consumption of the Wind Erosion effect increases damage by 20%, up to a maximum of 5 layers. This makes the damage of this skill reach its peak, becoming her strongest move in combat.
During combat, Katheryn’s variable skill “This Sword, for the Past of the Tides” also plays a crucial role. Whether summoning the Other Right Sword Aura in Katheryn form or gaining Determination through piercing attacks in Eutheria form, this skill is indispensable in combat.
Her extension skill “Listen to the Tides Bless You” provides additional damage bonuses to other party members. When other party members deal damage to enemies with abnormal statuses, the damage increases by 17.5%. This skill becomes particularly important in team coordination.
In terms of attribute bonuses, Katheryn’s HP and critical rate have been significantly enhanced. Her HP is increased by 1.80%/4.20%, and her critical rate is increased by 1.20%/2.80%. These enhancements to her base attributes make her combat more stable and powerful.
In terms of innate skills, “Wishes Woven with the Heart” and “Marks Etched by the Wind” further strengthen her combat abilities. After triggering the extension skill, the healing effects of the party are increased by 20%, and if the Drifter is in the party, resistance to interruptions is also further enhanced. Whenever an enemy gains an abnormal status, the skill “Marks Etched by the Wind” triggers, dealing additional damage and further solidifying her position as a formidable combatant.
