Origin Stone, Named After Bei Dao
Recently, the third-party data monitoring institution Sensor Tower released the February ranking of overseas income and downloads for Chinese mobile games in overseas markets. MiHoYo’s “Origin Stone” has continued to hold the top spot on the overseas mobile game revenue chart, becoming a focal point of global attention. In February, Origin Stone saw a surge in income due to the high demand for the Hu Tao and Nyanyan character pools, as well as the content update for version 3.5. These factors have significantly boosted its overseas revenue, propelling it back to the top of the revenue growth chart.
At the same time, MiHoYo’s other game, “Breaker 3,” celebrated its 5th anniversary and received an update for version 6.4.0. With new characters, plotlines, and activity content, the game’s overseas revenue rose by 62% month-over-month, returning to the top 14 in the total revenue chart and ranking third in the revenue growth chart.
ThirdJoy’s “Puzzles & Survival” and Tencent’s “PUBG MOBILE” occupy the second and third positions in the total revenue chart, respectively. Meanwhile, in the Korean market, ThirdJoy’s “M” (Devil M) has maintained its popularity, with a 107% month-over-month increase in overseas revenue, ranking fourth in the revenue growth chart. As of March 5th, “M” has generated over $1.1 million in global revenue.
Lilith’s “Galactic War” ranks fourth on the overseas revenue chart for this period. As of February 28th, the game’s overseas revenue had exceeded $2.6 billion, with the U.S., South Korea, and Japan contributing 29%, 16%, and 10% of its total overseas revenue, respectively.
The new “Dragon Taming” MMORPG, “The Legend of Kaliz,” developed by Purple Games and published by GameBeans, was launched in the Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong markets in early February. In the market with a strong presence of IP mobile games, China Taiwan and Hong Kong, the game ranked fourth in the sales chart in February and second in the revenue growth chart.
For the first time on the overseas revenue growth chart, there are also titles from NetEase’s “SNK: Fighting Era,” DianDi Interactive’s “Whiteout Survival,” Yixian Network’s “DeathGard,” San Yujiu’s “Primitive Era: 10,000 BC,” StarFortune’s “Nations of Darkness,” and Le You Zhicheng’s “Happy Hospital: Doctor ASMR.”
